Folks below is the notice from NSW Rugby GEN BLUE Program on the release of squad lists for the 2020 Camps. With COVID-19 having affected all GEN BLUE programs in 2020, Club & Schoolboys Rep programs, NSW Rugby is very keen to make sure that we still offer a training opportunity for some players.  Please understand that our main focus is on School leavers and that MANY U15, U16 & U17 players will miss an opportunity this year as they have not been identified. 

We know that we have missed some players this season, and that is unfortunate. But please understand this is due to limited resourcing & staff due to COVID and the fact we haven't been able to identify everyone this year.

A large number of NSW Rugby staff that work in this space have lost their jobs while others have been on job keeper since March this year meaning the identification process along with representative pathway for 2020 as holes in it.  This has particularly affected club and country players.  Please encourage all players to strive to put their best foot forward for 2021. Congratulations to you all on working so hard to ensure that our players have had a chance to play Rugby this year!

With all National Competitions being cancelled across most sports in 2020, we felt it very important at NSW Rugby to provide our best players with a higher level Rugby Opportunity to complete the season.  Hence we are running 3 NSW Waratahs Gen Blue camps with the best players from each age group participating in 1 match day and 1 training day lead by NSW Waratahs coaching staff as well as Academy staff & expert coaches.

‍NSW Waratahs Gen Blue Camps 1

‍Focus:            Camp aimed at the best U15 players + some advanced U14 players (less country contingent this year due to COVID)

Dates:            October: Sunday 4th – Monday 5th 2020

Times:             9:00am – 3:30pm each day

Venue:           Waratahs HQ, Banks Ave, Daceyville, NSW

Cost:              No cost

NSW Waratahs Gen Blue Camps 2

‍Focus:            Camp aimed at the best U16 players + targeted U17 players (who are not school leavers and have a school leaver in their position in Camp 3)

Dates:            October: Tuesday 6th – Wednesday 7th 2020

Times:             9:00am – 3:30pm each day

Venue:           Waratahs HQ, Banks Ave, Daceyville, NSW

Cost:              No cost

NSW Waratahs Gen Blue Camps 3

‍Focus:            Camp aimed at the mainly on the best Schools U18 players who are school leavers in 2020 (this is not the case for a small few players) Club U18 Pathway starts in November

Dates:            October: Thursday 8th – Friday 9th 2020

Times:             9:00am – 3:30pm each day

Venue:           Waratahs HQ, Banks Ave, Daceyville, NSW

Cost:              No cost

Please also note that the camp will follow strict COVID procedures (details will be sent to those that can attend) we reserve the right to cancel the camp should government or other restrictions force us to do so! Players excepting this invitation must be able to participate in full contact training with Waratah coaching staff and play on the match day.
